About the opportunity

Our team is growing aggressively, from 15 at the start of the year, to 35 now and aiming to further grow very quickly. We are looking for a creative product manager, pragmatic problem solvers and strategic in outlook. You will be responsible for driving several key initiatives in our roadmap and strategise the full lifecycle of product production — from conception through release . We expect you will have a particular focus on a new direction we're exploring (Fin-tech for Freight) and improvement of our mobile app capabilities in addition to our core matching/marketplace offering.


Objectives of this Role

  • Define the product goals, milestones and success metrics
  • Undertake competitor research to stay at the forefront of the industry
  • Own prioritisation of the product backlog and sprint planning
  • Work hand-in-hand with UX Design on delivery of best-in-class products
  • Write user stories and develop tickets for the Tech team as required
  • Facilitate ongoing product-related collaboration, externally and internally
  • Analyse consumer needs, current market trends, and potential partnerships from an ROI and build vs. buy perspective
  • Appraise new product ideas and strategise appropriate to-market plans

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Drive the execution of all product lifecycle processes for products, including product research, market research, competitive analysis, planning, positioning, roadmap development, requirements development, and product launch
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for MVP prototype construction and final product development by engineering teams
  • Create product strategy documents that describe business cases, high-level use cases, technical requirements, revenue, and ROI
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, marketing, and sales teams on the development, QA, and release of products to ensure success for the entire organisation

Job requirements

  • 2-5 years as a Product Owner, Product Manager or similar
  • Background can be from a start-up or corporate environment
  • Passion for innovation combined with a demonstrated ability to execute
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, facilitation and influencing skills
  • Equally comfortable in discussions with technical and business people
  • Analytical mindset and affinity for using data to achieve business outcomes
  • Interested in process improvement: optimising existing and defining new
  • Desire to learn, adapt and grow!
